We had a nice trip down to Denver nothing too crazy. N and his friend got more and More excited as we got closer to the Ogden theater. Beforehand we read it it was a 16 and up show so we were hoping we wouldn’t have any issues. Thankfully we did not.
Palisades was the first band to go on. they are from New Jersy. they seemed super excited to be in Denver and the crowd received them pretty good for being a new band. I wish the dynamic between the clean vocals and the growls was a little better. the clean was kinda quiet. After the show, they set up a merch table and greeted everyone that wanted to stop by. I got to shake hands with the singer and Guitarist. it was pretty cool.
Badflower is a pretty unique band, I thought they were kind of a mix between R.E.M and Radio head. really good performance, they look and sound great on the stage. Carefree you kids it seems. I hope they go far I wouldn’t mind seeing them again. These guys are one of N’s favorite bands and he was super excited to see them. Knew all the words.
These guys ripped it up pretty good. and of course, by the 3rd band, the Ogden theater was packed. And it got louder. I have heard their name before but never really listened to them. they were loud and heavy. Kinda more along my line of listening. They too put on a great stage performance with headbanging and swinging hair. I am glad I got to see these guys play. I would Definitely want to see them again.
And the Main Event. Nothing More. N and I are both big fans of this group. I love there unique style of music and Jonny Hawkins is one badass performer. We listen to these guys a lot. They Definitely stole the show and I can’t wait to see them again. ( Perhaps with Ghost in September?)
All in all, I think N had a great Birthday present and he is Definitely looking forward to go to his next concert. I am glad I got to share this time with him! Thanks, Mer for making this possible!
