Stuffed Steak with Lobster Ravioli

Grillin the Steak

My wife and I were talking about lunch that we are having tomorrow with friends at the local Chop House. She said she was going to have a great Salad. My suggestion was that we split a steak. She said after the steak we made the other night, nothing compares…. (Nothing compares to you by Sinead O’Connor playing in my head)…

Well here is what we Made. I would read this whole article before you start, I’m not the best at giving instructions.

Stuffed Steak with Lobster Ravioli

Stuffed Steak and Lobster Ravioli

Here is how you do it!

Go to the Store and get yourself some Thick ass steaks. A Strip or a Sirloin. We used a Strip. We bought ours at Sams Club. I like that the have a fresh butcher there. While your at it go to the section right there in front of the meat counter and grab some Lobster Ravioli.

Go get some Charcoal. I like mix my charcoal with some Mesquite Chucks, add a little flavor.

You may have to go to the Grocery store but that’s OK sometimes you just don’t have everything. While your out Go grab a six pack as well

Make sure you have:

  • shopping listMinced Garlic
  • Spinach
  • Provolone Cheese slices ( Swiss will work in a pinch)
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • About 3 TBSP Vinegar
  • about 2 TBSP Liquid smoke
  • Salt Pepper and any other spices you want
  • Meat Tenderizer
  • Butter (just buy a 4 pack of sticks you’ll have some to use tomorrow)
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese

The Directions: for the  Stuffed Steak (the 1st  1- 5 steps  needs to be done about 6 hours in advance)

  1. Mix in a gallon freezer bag the vegetable oil, vinegar, liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauces ( whole bunch of that just like pour a 1/4 of the large bottle in or more), salt and pepper.
  2. Cover steaks in Meat tenderizer
  3. Put steaks in the gallon freezer bag with the marinade from step one.
  4. Use the sink full of water to pinch the bag ( basically vacuum seal the bag) to get most of the air out.
  5. Put in Fridge – wait 6 hours ( we did this part on our lunch break)

OK Six hours later here is part 2

  1. Grillin the Steak
    On the Grill

Heat your oven to 350° F

  2. That charcoal I mentioned above? Light it up get that grill nice and hot! (my opinion gas will not do, gas has no flavor).
  3. Once the grill is hot, pull those steaks out of the fridge, take em out of the bag (Save the juice).
  4. Crack open a beer and throw them on the grill. Straight up and down like in the picture for 2 min.
  5. After 2 min turn 45 ° for 1 1/2 minutes.
  6. Flip and repeat (Yes you can finish that beer in this time).
  7. Take em off the grill and take em in the house.
  8. Stuffed Steak
    More Stuffin

Stand each steak on its side and slice it down the middle about 90% of the way ( Butterfly them).

  9. Spoon minced garlic in to the crevice salt and pepper both sides.
  10. Use two pieces of provolone cheese to cover the butterfly.
  11. Cover with Spinach and fold over. Use toothpick to hold it closed.
  12. Put the steaks in a  glass baking dish and pour the rest of the marinade from that gallon baggy on top.
  13. put in the oven for about 40 minutes or until it is to your desired doneness.

Lobster Ravioli & Sauce (my kids use to call it Lomster)

  1. Set a pot of water on the stove to boil. put a smidgen of olive oil in there to keep the pasta from sticking.
  2. In a fry pan dump some minced garlic in there with about 2 Tbsps butter ( we like garlic so use as much as you can stand.
  3. Suttee that stuff for a few min.
  4. Next add the rest of the stick of butter and melt it up.
  5. Add some heavy whipping cream ( not an exact measurement just make it creamy).
  6. Add the grate Parmesan ( again not exact measurement just make it cheesy).
  7. Simmer that stuff together for a bit but don’t burn it.
  8. Your water should be boiling by now. put your Ravioli in it, cook according to directions ( don’t over cook, it gets messy).

When the steak is done grab yourself a knife and slice it up, about 3/4 of an inch thick.

Strain the Ravioli put it all on the plates and pour some sauce on.

Server to your hungry family who have been waiting patiently to eat this masterpiece!!

Oh and watch a movie, we watched Dr. Strange
