Wow, I don’t think my wife and I have had a “Vacation” with out our children since we got married in 02. I mean we have had the occasional weekend put nothing major.  Oh Wait our Family fried decided he was coming too…OK, Well, that Side Here we go.

Friday: Flight was good with the exception we had a 3 hour lay over in Houston ( I still have not set foot on Texas Soil. Airports are international and there for do not count). went through customs like nothing and then waited for an hour for a transport to come. We met a nice couple that were headed to another hotel along our route (they were both teachers) got to have a good conversation as the ride was about an hour and 20 min.

The night we arrived, we checked in with Champagne and  Concierge and a ride to our room. We freshened up then they took up to the beach for a Lobster dinner and drinks ( all included I must add) after that we went an checked out the hotel. Got lost but had a good time looking around anyway. man this place was cool.

poolSaturday: We decided to stay around the hotel on Saturday. We had breakfast at the Buffet by the pool. After that we stayed by the pool for quite a bit of the day and did more exploring of the hotel met some pretty cool people. Our Friend spent the Whole day at the pool. Met a Couple from Oklahoma that were celebrating there honey moon. They were really Nice and we continued to hang out with them a few times during the trip.

tequilaWe came back to our room to relax a little bit and we there was a bottle of Tequila, two shot glasses a fruit plate with a note waiting for us in our room! Damn so far this place is Rockin’.

That night we went to the Buffet for dinner, They had every thing you could want meet fish veggies even sushi. It was just a huge buffet. I had pasta with seafood stuff kinda in heaven at this point.

Went and spent some time at the lobby hanging out having some drinks. they had a Saxophone player there playing so good tunes. The guy was pretty Amazing. Off to bed What a day.

Sunday: We went to the buffet for breakfast again and back to the pool for a bit. Then this about sums it up. Amazing day! Swimming pool, ocean fun, beach relaxing, new friends making, rum n coke drinking, wedding crashing, sea turtles nesting and lounge drinking. Loving life! and We then went to a Hydro Therapy session at the Spa that was at the hotel.

Monday: Swimming with the Dolphins. Nuff Said. Oh wait we also wen to Play Del Carmen and did some shopping that was quite different than it was in Cozumel but non the less it was still fun. I got to buy some Cuban Cigars and My bride got some souvenirs. I think I liked the shopping in San Miguel so much better. Then we watched the Rock an roll Show. A live band Playing 80 music from America.

soupRavioliThen we went to the Italian Restaurant. I had the most amazing Ministroni Soup, It doesn’t look like much but the flavor was Amazing.

For the Main Course we both had the Ravioli It was good, better that I make at home but I have had better. I was cheese stuffed and the White Sauce was actually pretty cheesy too. i had a couple mixed drinks with Dinner while my wife had Wine. All in all was a great evening with my lady.

Tuesday: OH MY G!!! THE ZIP LINE

Selveteica

This place was Awesome, our Tour Guides were awesome, If you ever get the opportunity I would definitely go here. the staff is great the food was great and we got to have so much fun, and we only paid $89.00 a person. Its cheaper if you purchase online.

For that price we got Transportation from our hotel to Selvatica. its about an hour drive I guess. Then we got all set up with gear. A little training lesson. then we got to go to 12 different stations to zip from.

CenoteThen they took us by truck ( looks like an old jungle truck) to A Cenote. For about an hour of Zip lining and swimming in the Cenote. This was pretty incredible It was all Fresh Water.

selvetica1After all that they took us back to the “lodge” and feed us lunch. It was rice and Fajita stuffing with there own home made Salsa. This was a good lunch no fast food kinda thing. So I think for the price this was an Outstanding adventure and I really want to do it again…. SOOON

We took the buss back to the Hotel after that. When we got back, my bride was still pretty insistent she wanted to do some real snorkeling.  It was about 2:30 in the afternoon, we decided to Hop a cab down to Akumal Bay and go snorkeling in the free area down there as the ours were going to be pretty expensive. When we got there this guy started talking to us and we told him basically to leave us alone. Turns out he was part of the nature conservatory down there and gave us a lot of information about the area. we finally decided to go with a guide so we could see all the good stuff there and it was only $25.00 per person. This was a great Choice we got to see all we had hoped for.

This was a Most exiting adventure and well worth the time. I wish our Friend had come with us to enjoy but alas another great adventure with my wonderful wife.

We hopped a a cab home and sat int he room and relaxed for a while. When we got back to our room there was a bottle of Champagne and two glasses with a note thanking us for staying there. I thought that was pretty cool to. Then we went back down to the pool to find our friend.

20150630_202157Later that evening we had our last gourmet dinner and the Japanese Hibachi grill. started out with two appetizers each. I had spring rolls and Sushi.

For the main Dish I had the steak and Rice. My wife had the shrimp and rice. She got a little piece of the calamari in hers and i tried it. I should have gotten the calamari. Man was it good.

We spent our last little evening hanging out with some of the friends we met, shopping a little around the area. we also chatted with a couple ( that didn’t speak much English so it was kind fun) that we met at the Spa. they were really nice people. They also sat at our table at the Japanese Hibachi. Off to bed

Wednesday: We had to return home that day. we got up early. Ate breakfast at the buffet. and then headed to our van to take us back to Cancun for the flight. Had a 2 hour wait in Cancun so we had lunch at Margarita and did some shopping in the airport.
